Yes, for the first time in my life I got pick-pocketed.
And I can't believe I actually got it back.
By the way, I knew who he was, and I also knew that he wasn't alone. Everything happened so fast. And I am damn lucky.
Now let's see if I can recall every detail of the incident. You know I have good memory =)
I was going back to Klang, as always, around 11am with Emily. We waited at the bus stop near Asia Jaya, and odd enough, it took the bus a longer time to arrive compared to usual. It was Wawasan that came and both of us got onto the bus. We didn't get the seats and were forced to stand.
Both of us were standing near this pole which was at the left side of the back door. I was directly opposite to the door while Emily stood beside me to the left. The other standing passengers were basically at the front side of the bus, which means they were actually quite far away from us.
It caught Emily's attention when a Malay guy who stood in front suddenly took all the trouble to go all the way to the back behind her. She felt that something was fishy. At the same time, the few more Malay guys at the front moved to the back, and stood very close to me. They created the impression that they needed to get down from the bus through the back door. Then the guy behind Emily came to the door too. They made the place so squeezy and I could feel the uneasiness because we even had skin contact. But when the bus stopped, the guys didn't went down!
Not long after that (in about less than 3mins), I saw the guy who was closest to me moving back to the front. I touched my pocket intuitively and instantly found my handphone missing. I knew it right away that I got pick pocketed.
I started crying. Then I told Emily that I had some idea about the person who did it, but I didn't know what to do. After crying for some time (lol), the very nice Indian girl asked Emily about it and Emily told her what happened. Then her guy friend who sat beside her asked for my number so that he can call and see who took the phone. Sadly, the person who stole my handphone had it turned off. Other passengers around me started to learn about the incident.
I continued to cry and people started to get concern about this.
It was at that particular moment, when someone found a handphone on the floor of bus. It was MINE, the handphone was also turned off. And the one who found the phone was exactly the person I suspected.
Did I just accidentally dropped the phone...? o.O...
And it got 'accidentally' turned off in the process???
Everyone was happy for me when they saw the phone returned. The funny Indian guy even said: Now we also need CCTVs in buses! The whole group of people went down after I got back my phone.
A lady in the bus told me that she also suspected that group of people. She also said that they probably returned the phone because they were afraid of spot check. After all, I created a fuss when I cried. I told her that I knew, but I just wanted my phone back.
Emily then said that she felt the guy touching her bag when he was behind. I felt the same thing too.
In the end, I got down safely from the bus leaving Emily behind.
Anyway, I sure was lucky to be able to have it back.
I can't believe I actually got it back when I was too chicken to do anything about it. Big things are coming my way lol =P
My handphone is cheap la, no point stealing also. But it'll be quite troublesome for me to lose it. Besides, it's present from dad.
For you guys who take buses regularly like me out there, do be extra careful on your properties. I guarantee you that these people are professional and experienced. You don't really feel it when they do things. Be aware and alert of your surroundings. Some people might not even know that they got pick pocketed until they search for their property.
Seriously, I've always think of myself as a careful person. I didn't expect this to happen. But sometimes, like I said before, things can just go beyond your will. At least try to be more alert to prevent things from happening. After all, I couldn't get it back if it wasn't for me to realize that it was stolen on the bus and on the spot.
Bottom line, shit happens =X
I'm off to pray now LOL.
p/s: Emily I don't want to take buses with you anymore la. Get fat, get late and get pick pocketed. All your fault lor. LOL.
